Kolter categorise this bike as the first Electric Sports Urban Motorcycle (E-SUM) and is aimed at a similar market to the SurRon in as much as it has on-road and off-road capabilities. Kollter rebrand this bike and is sold as a Tinbot (Germany) and Artisan ES1-S Pro in the UK.
However unlike the SurRon where you buy either the on-road or the off-version, with Kollter, the same bike is used for both configurations. In other words, you purchase the on-road version complete with SuperMoto 17" wheels with front and rear ventilated discs, tyres etc and if you want the off-road version, you add on the off-road kit and change the wheels over, keeping both sets. The off-road set include chunky tyres with 21" at the front and 18" rear (see Gallery) and to ensure an accurate speed reading, you re-configure the dash with the new diameter of the wheels.
Out of the box, the ES1-S Pro is a L3e license category bike (125cc equivalent) and comes with two Samsung Lithium-ion (18650 cells) 72v, 31ah batteries weighing 11kg each and taking 6 hours to charge both from flat (or 3 hours for a single battery). The bike can be ridden with one or two batteries, meaning one could be being charged while the other is being used. However the bike still only weighs just 112KG with one battery or 123KG with two.
Depending on whether you use the bike with one or two batteries, you have either 3.5kw or 5kw continuous power and either 5kw or 11kw maximum.
The ES1-Pro benefits from fully adjustable damping, the rear long travel mono shock suspension has adjustable spring rating. Set the rear suspension to suit your ride, urban commute or off road trail you can find your ideal setting.
The single battery version is capable of achieving a maximum speed of 50mph while the dual battery version can achieve 60mph. Quoted ranges are between 35 and 70 miles respectively.
Dimensions are 2080mm×860mm×1150mm
** Please Note the UK version only comes with Black and Grey highlighting not Black with Red highlighting as shown on the Tinbot images in the Gallery **
